Enterprise Agreement
The Enterprise Agreement 2011-2014 sets the terms and conditions of employment for employees in the department who are not part of the Senior Executive Service.
The agreement covers matters such as flexible working arrangements, allowances, leave, performance management and salary. It has a nominal expiry date of 30 June 2014.
Summary of key provisions in the Enterprise Agreement:
- 18 weeks paid maternity leave
- 18 weeks paid adoption leave
- 4 weeks paid paternity leave
- up to 8 weeks purchased leave
- 20 days annual leave (up to two weeks of leave can be taken at half pay)
- 18 days personal/carer’s leave
- eligibility for performance pay for EL 1 and EL 2 staff
- studies assistance up to $5000 p.a, plus study leave
- option to cash out minimum 5 days annual leave
- up to 3 days compassionate leave for each occasion
- up to 3 days bereavement leave for each occasion
- up to 5 days emergency services leave
- up to 2 days leave to perform volunteer work
- up to 12 months unpaid grandparents’ leave
- other paid leave for NAIDOC, moving house, defence reservists, etc
- employee allowances for health and safety representatives, first aid officers and diversity and harassment contact officers are now included
- accelerated salary advancement for APS 1 to APS 6 staff who receive an outstanding performance rating
- salary sacrifice up to 100% salary
- TOIL for Executive Level employees
- flextime for APS 1 to APS 6 levels
- paid shut-down between Christmas and New Year
- free confidential Employee Assistance Program for employees and their immediate family
- employer contribution towards vacation child care
- provision to work from home
- part-time work
- job sharing
- relocation assistance
