Peter Harris
Secretary of the Department of Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy. Mr Harris was appointed by the Prime Minister under section 58 of the Public Service Act. He was appointed in August 2009 for a period of five years.

General Counsel, Legal Group
General Counsel and head of the Legal Group is responsible for legal advice to the Department.
Simon Ash
Chief Financial Officer, Finance and Budgets
The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for the coordination, management and reporting of financial and budgetary information across the Department.
Infrastructure group
We are working to drive forward Australia's communication infrastructure, including the implementation of the National Broadband Network (NBN). The NBN will deliver superfast broadband access to Australian homes, businesses, remote areas and Indigenous communities.

We contribute to a number of initiatives to ensure Australians benefit from a vibrant and high quality broadcasting sector. We are also responsible for overseeing and coordinating Australia's transition from analog to digital free-to-air television between 2010 and 2013.
