Assistance for people who are deaf or have hearing or speech impairment

Users who are deaf or have a hearing or speech impairment can contact the Department through the National Relay Service between 8:30am and 5:30pm (Monday to Friday):

  • TTY users phone 1800 555 677 then ask for 6271 1000
  • Speak and Listen (speech-to-speech relay) users phone 1800 555 727 then ask for 6271 1000
  • Internet relay users connect to www.relayservice.com.au and then ask for 6271 1000.

Translating or interpreting services

People who need assistance with English can telephone 131 450 for the Translating and Interpreting Service National, which offers support for over 120 languages and dialects at any time of the day or night.
