Carrier powers to install telecommunications infrastructure

The Department provides policy advice to the Minister on the Commonwealth regulatory framework that governs the rights and obligations of telecommunications carriers in relation to the installation and maintenance of telecommunications facilities.

Here you will find information about telecommunications carriers' powers to access and inspect land and property, to install certain types of telecommunications facilities and to maintain facilities with immunity from State and Territory laws. Carriers' obligations to land owners and occupiers, and individuals' rights to object to carrier activities are also outlined.
