The Department of Communications, Information Technology and the Arts (DCITA) works with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) to represent Australia's telecommunications interests in trade negotiations. DFAT has overall responsibility for trade-related multilateral and bilateral discussions and negotiations and consults with other Australian Government Departments.
Other areas of DCITA interest in international trade negotiations include audio-visual services, postal and courier services, sporting services, intellectual property, electronic commerce and government procurement.
