Written guidance

This link sends you off DCITA's websiteTelstra’s Carrier Licence Conditions (Telstra Corporation Limited) Declaration 1997 (Amendment No. 2 of 2005) provides that the Minister responsible for the Telecommunications Act 1997may give guidance in writing to Telstra as to the particular matters the Minister considers relevant in formulating a local presence plan. Such guidance is required to be published on the Department's website. The guidance must not be inconsistent with the requirement on Telstra to maintain a local presence in regional, rural and remote Australia, to the extent that this:

  1. is broadly compatible with the licensee’s overall commercial interests; and
  2. is not unduly prescriptive and does not impose undue financial and administrative burdens on Telstra.

Telstra must have regard to the following matters in the development of the carrier’s inaugural local presence plan for regional, rural and remote Australia: Launch the at right to view the guidance.
