CDMA mobile network closure

On 15 April the Minister announced that Telstra's CDMA mobile network could be closed. Telstra closed the CDMA network on 28 April.

The Minister is satisfied that Telstra has addressed the problems identified in January 2008 and that the Next G network is providing equivalent or better coverage and retail services compared to the CDMA network.

Telstra provided the Minister with a report and supplementary information about the steps it had taken to rectify the identified problems.
