Broadband Development Network

The Broadband Development Network comprises up to 22 individuals across Australia who assist regional communities by increasing their understanding of, access to and use of broadband. It operates on two levels by focusing on state or territory broadband issues, and on regional and community issues.

The co-funded Broadband Project Managers work on strategic broadband development priorities at a state or territory level. The Broadband Project Officers complement this by implementing regional and community priority broadband projects.

The managers undertake activities such as identifying and documenting priority areas and opportunities for new and/or improved broadband services, or assisting communities and sectors to develop skills and capabilities to realise the social and economic benefits broadband can deliver.

Each project officer focuses on a regional broadband project and their activities may include supporting broadband infrastructure and network rollout or identifying and documenting priority areas and opportunities for new and/or improved broadband services.
