Project achievements
The project provided a managed virtual private network for more than 120 independent schools across rural and regional Victoria. By connecting those schools to an educational network for the first time, the project has improved learning opportunities and outcomes for students, and supported professional development for teachers. The project has also provided broadband communication links between independent schools across rural and regional Victoria and independent schools in the Melbourne metropolitan area.
The establishment of a dedicated internet data centre has provided an aggregation point for ISV member schools to connect to a centralised management environment. Schools now enjoy improved internet bandwidth, network functionality and security and safety at lower costs.
