High-speed broadband infrastructure and services for Berri, Murray Bridge and Port Pirie

Project achievements
This project used broadband technology to improve communications between government agency sites, including Aboriginal health clinics, and leverage broader local business and community benefits in the major South Australian regional centres of Berri, Murray Bridge and Port Pirie. The project delivered:
- fibre connections at each of 59 Government agency sites in Berri, Murray Bridge and Port Pirie via approximately 15 000 metres of fibre in six core segments
- inter-capital city fibre links via fibre at Port Pirie and Murray Bridge
- a 170 kilometre high-speed broadband link between Berri and Murray Bridge, connecting to an inter-capital city fibre link
- wireless digital subscriber line service coverage for 10 rural and regional communities, including Renmark, Barmera, Loxton, Monash, Maggea, Waikerie and Blanchetown
- broadband connections to Aboriginal health clinics in regional centres (Murray Bridge, Berri, Port Pirie, Mount Gambier, Port Augusta, Whyalla and Port Lincoln) and the installation of video-telephone systems and training.
