Project achievements
The project enhanced broadband telecommunications infrastructure and improved the educational experience for more than 4000 students across regional and remote Queensland. The project targeted 106 schools that, due to limited broadband connectivity, had only basic and often unreliable access to the Learning Place services.
Schools are now benefiting from improved broadband connectivity supporting equitable access to a suite of Learning Place education products. The Learning Place provides Education Queensland schools with a comprehensive e-learning environment offering quality digital resources, online courses, Web 2.0 applications community spaces, collaborative e-projects and online communication tools. It enables access to stored digital resources and also supports learning for student and teacher collaborations at local, national and international levels.
