Project achievements

Scope Connect used fixed and mobile broadband technology to deliver more efficient and effective services to people with disabilities by increasing the connectivity of Scopes disability therapists throughout Victoria.

The project provided broadband connectivity for 18 Scope service sites across rural and remote Victorian regions improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the delivery of services to Scope clients and their families through more than 350 staff working on-site.
Wireless broadband connectivity was also provided to more than 200 Scope therapy staff working off-site enabling service continuity for clients and families and achieving more efficient service delivery (such as. live and online access to client information and ability to enter client information off-site).

Specifically, staff have mobile PCs with in-built wireless broadband functionality to access the internet and Scope’s intranet, and a client management software suite which is used by Scope for a wide range of client management purposes (including client data, notes, service records, assessments, and required government and management data). This functionality is provided to therapists operating out of Scope service sites.

The project has enabled Scope workers to access the full application functionality of client management package, using a mobile PC over a broadband network (including wireless broadband) delivering improved services to people with disabilities throughout Victoria.
