The Department plays an essential role in developing dynamic and world-class communications, ICT, broadcasting and digital content

As well as providing the Australian Government with economic, legal and social policy advice on these evolving sectors, the Department administers regulations, funding and support to industry and the wider community.

We have developed an employment package to help you get the most from your job in the Department, and to balance your working and personal life.

Pay—Your starting salary will be from $36,892. After the program, it’s up to you!

Salary packaging—You can salary package items such as superannuation, cars and laptops through our salary packaging arrangements.

The aim of the Year 12 Graduate Program is to provide opportunities for participants to gain career experience and develop skills that are valued in the Department, and to achieve personal goals as well as those of the Australian Public Service. On successful completion of the program you will continue to work in the Department as an ongoing employee, with the opportunity to apply for higher level vacancies at the APS2 and APS3 levels.
