Project overview and objectives
The Clinicians Online project will deliver improvements in health outcomes for cystic fibrosis patients across Victoria.
The project will deliver specialist healthcare services taking advantage of the National Broadband Network, where it is rolled out and activated, to support remote clinical consultation for cystic fibrosis services and related specialists and general practitioners. Video-based cystic fibrosis consultations will be provided between Melbourne-based hospitals and regional/rural patients.
A videoconferencing connection service using cloud infrastructure will be established to connect five Victorian Rural Health Alliances, the Northern Territory and four major metropolitan hospitals in Melbourne.
The videoconferencing cloud capability will support delivery of telehealth across health jurisdictions, between state/territories, and between public and private health providers.
