Telecommunications research grants

Section 593 of the Telecommunications Act 1997 gives the Minister provision to make grants of financial assistance to organisations to conduct high-quality, innovative research projects into the social, economic, environmental or technological implications of telecommunications developments, in order to increase public knowledge and stimulate debate.

Research reports funded by the program can be accessed through Related Links which appears on the right hand side of this webpage.

From 1 July 2009, the Consumer Research Grants program will be administered by the Australian Communications Consumers Action Network (ACCAN). Queries may be directed to the Department by telephone on (02) 6271 7000.
