Review of Indigenous Broadcasting

Following a review of the Indigenous Broadcasting Program (IBP) undertaken in 2006, a report on the review was released. The review aimed to:

  • examine funding practices that will better reflect the needs, priorities and aspirations of Indigenous communities;
  • propose a set of principles for the future governance of the program, and
  • canvass a range of issues and options relevant to funding Indigenous broadcasting.

The department is now working to implement the outcomes of the review by 2008-09 in consultation with the Indigenous broadcasting sector.
