Carrier powers to install telecommunications infrastructure

The Department provides policy advice to the Minister on the Commonwealth regulatory framework that governs the rights and obligations of telecommunications carriers in relation to the installation and maintenance of telecommunications facilities.

Here you will find information about telecommunications carriers' powers and immunities in relation to accessing and inspecting land to install and maintain certain types of telecommunications facilities. Carriers' obligations to land owners and occupiers, and the rights of individuals to object to carrier activities are also outlined.
