Government response to the Senate inquiry into Australia Post’s treatment of injured and ill workers
On 22 December 2010, the government presented to the President of the Senate its response to the Senate inquiry into Australia Post’s treatment of injured and ill workers. The inquiry examined the appropriateness and application of Australia Post’s policies relating to the treatment of injured and ill workers, including whether or not suitable relationships existed between Australia Post management, workers and facility nominated doctors. In its response, the government noted that Australia Post had accepted and adopted all recommendations in the committee’s report, giving them effect through its new Fair Work Agreement which commenced operation on 28 October 2010.
