Thank you for your feedback.

In the 2010–11 Budget the Australian Government announced an independent review of its investment in the Indigenous broadcasting and media sector. The review aimed to ensure that the resources allocated to Indigenous broadcasting delivered the best outcomes for Indigenous people. The review was completed by Mr Neville Stevens AO in December 2010 and a report provided to government in January 2011.

The government has implemented a key recommendation of the review with the transfer of the Indigenous Broadcasting Program to the Department of Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy.

On 28 October 2011 the Minister announced the appointment of Mr Laurie Patton, a former member of the Review Panel, to carry out further work on the review’s recommendations.
